The Significance of Shab-e-Miraj (The Night of Ascension)

 Shab-e-Miraj, also known as Lailat-ul-Miraj, marks the miraculous journey of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the heavens. During this sacred night, he was spiritually and physically elevated to meet Allah. This event symbolizes Allah’s mercy and the importance of prayer, as it was on this night that the five daily prayers were ordained. Muslims around the world commemorate this night through prayers, Quran recitation, and supplication (dua). 

 Below are some meaningful duas you can recite to seek Allah's blessings, forgiveness, and guidance on this blessed night.

• Astaghfirullah wa Atubu Ilaih
  (I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance.)
• Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni
  (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.)

• Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar
  (Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.)
  (Surah Al-Baqarah: 201)
• Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka Antas-Sami'ul-Alim
  (Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.)
  (Surah Al-Baqarah: 127)

• Allahumma barik lana fi ma razaqtana wa qina 'adhaban-nar
  (O Allah, bless us in what You have provided us and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.)
• Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a’yunin waj’alna lil-muttaqina imama
  (Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.)
  (Surah Al-Furqan: 74)

• Rabbi awzi’ni an ashkura ni’mataka allati an’amta ‘alayya wa ‘ala walidayya wa an a’mala salihan tardah wa aslih li fi dhurriyyati
  (My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And make righteous for me my offspring.)
  (Surah Al-Ahqaf: 15)

• Ayat-ul-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah: 255) for protection and blessings.
• Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas for spiritual benefit and protection.
• Darood Sharif:
  • Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammadin wa 'ala ali Muhammadin kama sallayta 'ala Ibrahima wa 'ala ali Ibrahima innaka Hamidun Majid.
    (O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and his family, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and his family. You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.)

1. Perform Tahajjud Prayer: Engage in voluntary night prayers to strengthen your bond with Allah.
2. Personal Duas: Ask Allah for forgiveness, guidance, and help in your personal matters.
3. Quran Recitation: Reflect on the meanings of the verses to seek inspiration and peace.
